Lawn-Watering Restrictions In Edina: What To Know

Residents are only allowed to water their lawns before 11 a.m. or after 5 p.m. on their scheduled days, officials said.

EDINA, MN — With summer now officially underway, Edina officials are encouraging residents to conserve water by following the city’s daytime irrigation ban and odd-even watering schedule.

Residents are only allowed to water their lawns before 11 a.m. or after 5 p.m. on their scheduled days, officials said.

Homes and businesses with even-numbered addresses should water their lawns on even-numbered dates, with odd-numbered homes and businesses allowed to water on odd dates.

Residents who water their lawns on the wrong day or at the wrong time could face surcharges or fines. A first offense prompts a fine of $50, while a second violation costs $100. Third violations cost $300 and fourth violations cost $400, according to the city.

Residents with private wells do not have to follow Edina’s lawn-watering restrictions, while residents in the Morningside neighborhood who get their water from Minneapolis must follow that city’s restrictions, officials said.
