3-Year-Old Critical After 2 Pit Bulls Attack In Brooklyn Park

Police responded to the scene Friday afternoon to find two pit bulls actively attacking the child.

BROOKLYN PARK, MN — A 3-year-old is in critical condition after the child was attacked by two pit bulls in Brooklyn Park Friday afternoon.

At about 12:45 p.m., Brooklyn Park officers responded to the attack at the 7500 block of Brooklyn Park Drive North.

At the scene, officers found two pit bulls actively attacking the child.

Several officers fired weapons, striking both dogs, killing one and injuring the other.

The child was rescued by officers, and life-saving efforts were performed, according to authorities. The child was then transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital and is in critical condition.

The injured dog was secured and transported to a nearby animal care facility, authorities said. Detectives were called to the scene, and an investigation into the incident is underway, according to the Brooklyn Park Police Department.
