MINNESOTA — The Minnesota Parents Alliance, a new conservative-leaning political organization, said that 49 of its endorsed candidates won in school district races across the state on Election Day.

MPA also said that it won victories in 15 of its 19 targeted school districts. The group says it exists to ensure every parent can get involved in their child's education.

"Parent-backed candidates cut through all of the noise in this election and won support from voters because they talked about the important issues — academic achievement, equality and parental rights," said Cristine Trooien, Executive Director of the Minnesota Parents Alliance, in a news release.

"As a first-generation American, I understand the opportunity for success that a strong school district provides for every child," said Tanya Simons, who went on to win a seat in Osseo Area School District 279.

"I believe in increasing the voice of parents and teachers in identifying concerns and creating and implementing solutions. Every scholar in ISD279 and in Minnesota deserves the right to an education that prepares them for their future."

MPA said it won seats in the following districts:

  • Prior Lake
  • Elk River
  • Osseo
  • Forest Lake
  • Centennial
  • Easter Carver County
  • Hutchinson
  • Farmington
  • Waconia
  • Bemidji
  • Alexandria
  • Lakeville
  • Brainerd
  • Zumbrota
  • Becker

According to the group's website, the Minnesota Parents Alliance launched earlier this year "with the goal of educating and empowering parents to engage in their local school communities as strong advocates for academic achievement, equality and parental rights."
