Crimson Adapted Floor Hockey Team Finishes 3rd At State Tourney
The Crimson quickly shook off its first loss of the season to win the state tournament's third-place game.
MAPLE GROVE, MN — A team of students from middle and high schools in the Osseo Area Schools system recently capped their season with a third-place finish in the state tournament for adapted hockey.
The Crimson adapted hockey team won the North Division Conference after winning all nine of its games, then opened its state tournament March 18 with a resounding 19-6 win over the South Suburban Jets, according to statistics from the Minnesota State High School League.

The team fell to its first defeat of the season the next during the state tournament’s semifinal round, losing 12-6 to Burnsville/Farm/Lakeville, according to the MSHSL.
But the Crimson shook off that disappointing loss to take down North Suburban 9-3 just hours later in the tournament’s third-place game.

Sophomore Emilio Hernandez scored three goals for the Crimson and added two assists, while junior Gaetano Sanders and sophomore Jake Dettman each scored twice, MSHSL statistics show.
Sanders and Jesse Cardoso-Ramirez were both named to the 2022 All-Tournament Team.
Crimson coach Jodi Eggers said she was proud of the players’ “sportsmanship, teamwork and most of all dedication” after leading her team to third-place.
“Our players work very hard to get to the state tournament,” she said. “Traveling to the two day tournament is a highlight for the competitive play and meeting other team members.”
