Eastman Nature Center Grand Reopening

Celebrate the grand re-opening of the new Eastman Nature Center on Sunday, Oct. 14, from 1-4 p.m., at Eastman Nature Center, in Elm Creek Park Reserve, Dayton.

Refreshments, an opening ceremony at 2 p.m., face painting, and puppet shows. Make and decorate your own hiking staff, a wooden bird feeder (courtesy of Elpis Enterprises), and a recycled-tube bird feeder (courtesy of Creative KidStuff).

Reacquaint yourself with the snakes, turtles, salamanders, and owl. Explore the all new hands-on exhibits or a self-guided trail hike. Parking is off-site with a shuttle. See www.threeriversparks.org for parking details.

The new 13,000-square-foot building features quiet reading and observation rooms, larger classrooms, a much larger exhibit area with wildlife watching, all-new professional exhibits, an open-air deck, a small coffee service, public wi-fi signal, and an after-hours restroom.
