Girl, 7, Injured In Another Brooklyn Park Dog Attack

BROOKLYN PARK, MN — A 7-year-old girl is recovering after she was attacked by a dog in Brooklyn Park. The incident marked the second time a child was attacked in Brooklyn Park in less than a week.

On Tuesday at about 4:40 p.m., Brooklyn Park officers responded to a report of a girl who was attacked by a dog in the 7500 block of Janell Avenue North.

The 7-year-old girl received "superficial injuries" from the attack, police said.

The dog was at large while officers tried to track it down. During that time, the dog tried to attack another child, authorities said.

Officers located and "dispatched" the dog.

The incident is under active investigation.

Last week, a 3-year-old girl was left in critical condition after the child was attacked by two pit bulls in Brooklyn Park Friday afternoon.
