Highway 610 Project Takes 2013 Engineering Excellence Award
MnDOT: The award, in the "Intelligent Compaction" category, was awarded to MnDOT and partners, including Maple Grove-based C.S. McCrossan.
A road construction project that took several years in planning and implementation was recently focus of the American Council of Engineering Companies Engineering Excellence Award.
The American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) has awarded the Minnesota Department of Transportation’s Metro District, in partnership with Braun Intertec, Maple Grove-based C.S. McCrossan and SRF Consulting Group an Engineering Excellence Award, according to MnDOT, for the Highway 610 extension between Highway 169 and County Road 81 in Maple Grove and Brooklyn Park.
The award was presented in the “Intelligent Compaction” category for “innovative application and analysis methods related to monitoring and documenting the stiffness of in-place soils for pavement support,” according to MnDOT.

The extension of Highway 610 was opened in August 2011.
