Man Dies By Suicide At Twin Cities Gun Range

A man died by suicide at an indoor gun range in Coon Rapids on Wednesday morning, according to authorities.

COON RAPIDS, MN — A man died by suicide at an indoor gun range in Coon Rapids on Wednesday morning, according to authorities.

Police and emergency responders were called to the business at 20 Coon Rapids Boulevard around 11 a.m. on Jan. 22, following a report of a person with an apparent gunshot wound, the Coon Rapids Police Department said.

Investigators said the man, whose identity has not been released, had arranged to use a lane at the range and appeared to suffer a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other injuries were reported, and authorities said there is no ongoing threat to the public.

The incident remains under investigation by the Coon Rapids Police Department, the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office, and the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office.
