MAPLE GROVE, MN — The Maple Grove High School baseball team will return to St. Paul’s CHS Field on Thursday to continue fighting for a state title after its semifinal game was postponed Wednesday.
Officials called off Maple Grove’s game against Farmington in the second inning with the game still scoreless after rain and lightning moved into the Twin Cities metro Wednesday afternoon.
Maple Grove and Farmington will resume their battle at noon Thursday at CHS Field, according to the Minnesota State High School League.

Tanner Albeck and Hunter Gerber led the Crimson's offensive attack, each going 2-for-4 with a run scored, according to the Minnesota State High School League.
Maple Grove scored three unearned runs against St. Louis Park, while starting pitcher Aiden McMahon allowed just four hits and struck out six batters, the MSHSL said. Aiden Hansen pitched in relief, and Zan Vitense earned the save for the Crimson, who are now 20-4 for the season, according to the game report.
Maple Grove will be Class 4A state champions with two more wins.

The winner of Maple Grove-Farmington will play Stillwater or Chanhassen in the state final, scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday at Target Field.
The losers of those two games will play for third place at 5 p.m. Thursday at CHS Field.
