Maple Grove Baseball Team's Quest For State Title Starts Tuesday

Maple Grove is making its first appearance in the state tournament since 2017 and its ninth appearance all-time, according to the MSHSL.

MAPLE GROVE, MN — The Maple Grove High School baseball team is set to take on St. Louis Park on Tuesday in the quarterfinal round of the Class 4A state tournament.

The first pitch in the Crimson’s state-title push is scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday at CHS Field in St. Paul. Maple Grove is making its first appearance in the state tournament since 2017 and its ninth appearance all-time, according to the Minnesota State High School League.

The Crimson won the Section 5AAAA title after finishing the season with four straight victories, according to the MSHSL.

St. Louis Park will be making its first state-tournament appearance in 70 years. The team won the Section 6AAAA tournament and has been victorious in seven of its last eight games, the MSHSL said.

Phillips Seeks $2M For Maple Grove Hospital Emergency Room Expansion

The winner of Maple Grove-St. Louis Park will take on Park High School or Farmington High School at noon Wednesday at CHS Field.

The other side of the Class 4A state tournament bracket includes Sartell, Stillwater, Chanhassen and Andover high schools.
