Hometowne Pizza’s massive offering, known as the “Monster Challenge,” was highlighted Wednesday in the Star Tribune’s article titled “6 new pizza places in the Twin Cities area (and beyond) you need to know about.”

The “Monster Challenge” dares three customers to finish a 30-inch pizza that weighs 9.5-11.5 pounds in under an hour. Those who can finish it get the whole thing for free; those who don’t have to pay $85, the Star Tribune’s Sharyn Jackson wrote.

The “Monster Challenge” pizza is 450 percent bigger than Hometowne’s large pizzas, according to the restaurant’s website, which says it won’t fit into a normal car.

It’s big enough to feed at least 10 people, according to the restaurant.

Trios who finish the challenge get their picture posted in celebration. Those who don’t finish have their photos posted on a Wall of Shame, letting others know they “were beat by a harmless, little pizza,” the website says.
