MN House Speaker Tests Positive For Coronavirus, Working Remotely

Speaker Melissa Hortman (DFL-Brooklyn Park) said she was "feeling fine" after testing positive Wednesday.

BROOKLYN PARK, MN — Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman is working remotely after confirming she tested positive for the coronavirus.

Hortman (DFL-Brooklyn Park) said she took a test Wednesday “out of an abundance of caution” after her “allergies seemed a little bit worse this morning than a normal spring day.”

She said on Twitter that she was “feeling fine” after the test came back positive, noting she is fully vaccinated and boosted against the coronavirus.

Hortman has been meeting for the past several days with Gov. Tim Walz and Republican Senate Majority Leader Jeremy Miller to negotiate the end of the 2022 legislative session, the Star Tribune reported.
