Maple Grove resident Mark Mann, who lost his legs in a June boating accident, is taking his first steps with prosthetic legs, according to a KSTP report.
Maple Grove resident Mark Mann, who lost his legs in a June boating accident, is taking his first steps with prosthetic legs, according to a KSTP report.
Mann grew up in Woodbury, and has been raising funds to pay for medical expenses. An event was held at New Life in August.
“It really isn’t a sob story. I’m grateful to be alive and breathing,” Mann told Patch in July. “I’m a pretty positive person, and I’ve tried to keep that mind-set throughout.”
Now, he’s walking again.

The first steps were “very robotic,” he told KSTP, and said he has longed for those “simple moments” like standing up.
