Tim Walz Handily Beat Scott Jensen In Maple Grove: Report
Gov. Tim Walz routed Scott Jensen in Dakota County on Election Day, including in the neighborhoods of Maple Grove.
MAPLE GROVE, MN — Republicans have not won a statewide race in Minnesota since 2006, and that streak continued Tuesday.
A big reason why is because of how poorly the state's Republican candidates performed in the suburbs, including gubernatorial candidate Scott Jensen.
In Maple Grove, Walz won 19,878 votes to Jensen's 14,779 votes, an analysis by MinnPost shows.

In each election, Minnesota Democrats can count on winning by large margins in Minneapolis and St. Paul. State Republicans typically perform well in the smaller towns and rural parts of the state.
