A Huntington Place security guard suffered an injury on his left hand from attempting to stop the attack. In the process, the guard injured one of the dogs, authorities said.
After an" exhaustive effort," police said two dogs were taken into custody. One dog was euthanized on the scene due to aggression. The second dog was euthanized later due to the severity of the injuries.
The third dog is quarantined at an animal shelter, according to authorities.
The incident marked at least the third serious pit bull attack in Brooklyn Park this summer. In July, a 3-year-old boy was killed by two pit bulls.
