1. Minneapolis Public Schools teachers are officially on strike for the first time in more than 50 years. Picket lines began Monday morning for the group, which is seeking better pay and smaller class sizes. Classes are canceled indefinitely. (Patch)
2. Burnsville High School went on lockdown Tuesday afternoon after reports of a weapon in the school. Investigators say no weapon was found after more than two hours of lockdown. (KSTP)

3. Former Minneapolis City Council member Don Samuels filed to oppose U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar in the 5th Congressional District Democratic primary. He previously ran for mayor of Minneapolis and is considered an advocate for public safety. (KARE11)
4. A Wisconsin man injured at U.S. Bank Stadium in 2019 will receive $1.25 million in a settlement reached this week, Patch reports. Tom Ugoretz was attending a Garth Brooks concert at the venue when a steel barrier landed on his foot. (Patch)
5. More than 1,400 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Minnesota Tuesday, along with 20 additional deaths. March 11 marks two years since the World Health Organization declared the coronavirus crisis a global pandemic. More than 6 million people have died worldwide. (KARE11)
