A total of 449,492 Minnesotans have tested positive for COVID-19 and 5,979 have died.

After experiencing one of the nation’s worst outbreaks in late fall, Minnesota now has the nation’s 48th-fastest rate of case growth, with roughly 25 new cases per 100,000 residents in the past week, according the Brown School of Public Health.

More than 200,800 Minnesotans — roughly 3.6% of the state’s population — have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine, and 38,521 have received two doses. On Tuesday, the state launched a new pilot program allowing people over 65 to get vaccinated at pilot sites across the state, although supply remains extremely limited.
