TWIN CITIES, MN — Hot, sticky weather will grip the Twin Cities this Fourth of July, and forecasters warn that scattered storms could disrupt outdoor celebrations across the metro.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures will soar to around 88–90 degrees on Friday, with a 70 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms developing in the afternoon and evening.

The day will start partly sunny and humid, with a steady south breeze adding to the sticky air.

July 4 Forecast:

  • High: 90 degrees
  • Sky: Partly sunny
  • Rain/Storm Chance: 70 percent, mainly after 1 p.m.
  • Low: Around 72 degrees Friday night
