1. Former Brooklyn Center police officer Kim Potter was sentenced Friday to two years in prison for the killing of 20-year-old Daunte Wright. Judge Regina Chu said it was "the saddest case in my 20 years on the bench." (Patch)

2. A Melrose man died in a head-on car crash near downtown Minneapolis Friday morning. The Minnesota State Patrol said the accident happened around 4 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-394. (KNSI)

3. Minneapolis teachers voted to strike Friday with 97 percent of the vote. The union still has to formally notify the district for the vote to move forward. Minneapolis teachers have not gone on strike since 1970. (CBS)

4. A "major snow event" is expected to hit the Twin Cities Monday and last 48 hours, according to BMTN. Minneapolis and St. Paul could see between 10-12 inches of snow. (BMTN)

5. River Valley Church purchased the historic Theatre de la Jeune Lune building for $10 million, the Star Tribune reports. "It's sad that it won't be part of the artistic community anymore," Jeune Lune co-founder Barbra Berlovitz said. (Paid source: Star Tribune)
