1. As of Monday night, no deal had been reached between the Minneapolis teachers union and school district. More than 6,400 teachers are expected to strike today across the Twin Cities. (KARE11)
2. Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey announced a national recruitment push for the city's next police chief. Public Sector Search & Consulting Inc. will lead the search, which is expected to last through this summer. (Patch)

3. Mayo Clinic was named the best hospital in the world by Newsweek. It is the fourth consecutive year the health center has topped the list. Two Minneapolis hospitals also made the U.S. list. (BMTN)
4. A “prolonged” cold air mass is settling over the Twin Cities, the National Weather Service reports. The forecast shows below-normal seasonal temperatures for the first half of March. (Patch)
