‘Inappropriate’ Cycling, Creepy at Freeziac, Game Blame: Woodbury Police Blotter

The following information was obtained from recent police reports. 

An officer freed a cat from a sewer drain at the 10700 block of Knollwood Lane and returned the animal to its owner.

A man at the 3000 block of Devonshire Drive started yelling at his mother’s neighbor about an incident involving his dog a month ago. He was swearing at the neighbor because he had kicked his dog. But the neighbor denied it, and said he used his foot to push the dog away from him after he was attacked. A tree-trimming crew in the area told police the man was out of control and screaming for no reason.

Police were called to a Woodbury gym after a man got upset and caused a scene when he was asked to leave a cycling class. Staff told officers he was inappropriate during the class but did not elaborate. His contract was terminated and he left without further incident. 

After being called to Extended Stay of America on a room eviction, police found that a woman had a warrant out for her arrest. She was arrested and her two cats were brought to a shelter and will be released to her once she gets out of jail.

Police were thanked for their assistance after they followed up on a report that a man was trying to open several car doors at Sam’s Club. The man denied trying to steal anything and said he only tried one door on accident.

Employees at buybuy Baby called police after four people came into the store and immediately split up and workers were having trouble tracking them. They eventually brought several items to the counter and paid with $500 in cash. No known theft occurred.

A resident at the 1500 block of Parkwood Drive called police after hearing a someone try to open the front door of her home.

A man came into Freeziac and asked a manager if employees are often alone in the store and whether it has security cameras. He said he was from Arizona and spoke with a southern accent until halfway through the conversation. The manager asked if he was planning on robbing the frozen yogurt shop. He smiled and said “no.” Police advised employees to call back if he returns. 

Police were called to the 800 block of Lake Ridge Alcove after a resident said people collecting for a Minneapolis nonprofit were being aggressive. Officers made contact with the group, which had supporting documents and valid ID. They told police they would be done for the night. 

An intoxicated man who was apparently wandering into traffic on Hudson Road near SuperAmerica was transported to detox. He also had a small amount of marijuana in his possession.

A Wisconsin man was stopped for speeding and busted for DWI near Radio Drive and Interstate 94.

A woman was arrested on suspicion of DWI near Upper Afton Road and Century Avenue.

A resident called police to ask about rules regarding campaign personnel setting up in public parks and lots.

A man near Lake Road and Woodwinds Drive was advised about the dangers of panhandling. He agreed to leave the city.

A driver who saw another car fail to yield to his right of way told police he thought it was suspicious and followed the other motorist to the eastside of St. Paul. The other driver eventually stopped and confronted the caller about following him. The caller told police he didn’t want anything done if the car was registered to a Woodbury resident. It was. 

A woman was arrested on suspicion of assault at the 6900 block of Collinwood Lane after she got into a fight with a temporary roommate over an issue about the alleged victim playing video games.
