1. Report: Over 80K migrants to be housed in ICE warehouses throughout US (abc27.com) — Woodbury is listed as a proposed site for a new ICE processing warehouse that could temporarily hold hundreds of migrants before transfer to larger detention centers. The draft national plan outlines 15 such smaller facilities and seven major hubs as the Trump administration prepares to expand deportations in 2026.

2. County Board approves five year Capital Improvement Plan (cottagegrovejournal.news) — Washington County has approved its 2026 budget and a five‑year Capital Improvement Plan that will shape taxes, services, and infrastructure for Woodbury residents, including County Highway 16 safety and pavement projects. The plan also funds parks, libraries, septic and well loan programs, homelessness prevention, and major road work across the county through 2030.
   

3. 2025 in Review: Suburbs once again dominate housing starts (finance-commerce.com) — Woodbury ranked second in the Twin Cities metro for new housing in 2025, with permits issued for 515 planned homes, up sharply from last year. The city trails only Rosemount as suburban single-family construction continues to dominate regional residential growth.
   

4. $100,000 Powerball ticket sold in Minnesota (wdio.com) — A Powerball ticket worth $100,000 was sold at Jerry’s Foods on Hargis Parkway in Woodbury, and the winner has a year to claim the prize. Minnesota Lottery officials note the state saw hundreds of thousands of winning tickets during the recent jackpot run, with larger prizes claimed at headquarters in Roseville.
