Washington County CO Receives Award

WASHINGTON COUNTY, MN — A correctional officer at Washington County Jail recently received the Minnesota Sheriff’s Association Correctional Officer of Year Award at the 39th Jail Administrator’s Conference, according to a news release from Washington County.

John Roberto has been a correctional officer with Washington County's Jail Division for 22 years, the county said.

Roberto has also received life-saving awards, letters of excellence and numerous accolades, according to the news release.

At the conference, Roberto thanked his family and coworkers for their support over the last 22 years, the county said.

"Roberto is a deeply caring person who is always been there for his peers in their time of need," the county said. "He works hard, is dedicated, and has willingly put himself in harm’s way dozens of times over his career."
