Woodbury Patch: Tell us about the beginnings of Wild Child Hair.

Melissa Fink: I had been cutting children's hair for eight years prior to moving to Woodbury. There was already a salon for children in Woodbury, but I felt there was a need for a second. The population was growing so fast with all the home building in progress. I wanted to open a child-friendly salon that also invited the whole family to have services done.

Patch: What does the five-year mark mean to you?

Fink: People like Wild Child. They like the concept and hopefully it means we're turning out a great product. We hope to be here for many years to come.

Patch: What has made your business successful over the years?

Fink: I feel that a great staff who's dedicated to their clients has definitely made all the difference. They love their job and love to see all the families return time after time. It's fun to watch these kids grow up.

Patch: And how is business?

Fink: Business is great and it's still growing. We get so many great new clients every day. It's nice to know that people refer their friends and family to Wild Child. We appreciate that so much.

Patch: Anything else you'd like to add?

Fink: We feel blessed to be part of such a great community. Our friends and neighbors helped immensely with the start up process. We could not have done it without them. We've had great support from our clients as well through their patronage, feedback and referrals. Come join us to celebrate on Saturday, March 16, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. We will be serving cupcakes and will be offering $3 off haircuts all day. We hope to see our clients and friends that have brought us to this milestone as well as many new faces who will see us into the future.
