Here are the top three stories today in Bozeman:

  1. The City of Bozeman is working on developing affordable housing in uncharted territory and has invested $5 million of American Rescue Plan dollars to build sewage infrastructure on the north side of town, which will allow the land to be developed for affordable housing. Developer Rob Lateiner committed five acres of the land to build affordable housing and plans to keep these five acres affordable for the community. The city will also consider using other creative ways to use limited resources to bring more affordable housing to the city in the future. (KBZK News)
  2. A spring storm dumped between one and two feet of snow in Bozeman and the surrounding area over the weekend, causing crashes on streets and highways. The heaviest snowfall occurred on Friday night, and the accumulation numbers are still being compiled, with reports of up to 30 inches toward Sypes Canyon. The temperatures will continue to be below average this week with continued chances of light snow, and heavy snowfall could create snowmelt runoff and street flooding. 3. Bozeman's attractions, including its scenic mountains, blue-ribbon rivers, a four-star hotel, and an abundance of dining options, have garnered attention from visitors worldwide, earning a spot on Time Magazine's 2023 world's greatest places list alongside international destinations like Barcelona, Kyoto, and Budapest. Bozeman Area Chamber of Commerce CEO Daryl Schliem said that recent developments such as the J.W. Heist Steakhouse and the Open Range Restaurant's purchase by singer-songwriters Joey and Gavin DeGraw caught the publication's attention. The recognition reflects Bozeman's unique offerings and amenities, which cater to visitors looking for a one-of-a-kind experience. (NBC Montana)
