44 LVMPD Recruits To Graduate Thursday

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department announced 44 new recruits will graduate Thursday.

LAS VEGAS, NV - Forty-four new members of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department will be welcomed on Thursday in a ceremony at the Palms Casino and Hotel.

The department announced the ceremony for the recruits, who entered the Academy on June 28, 2017. Last month, 34 recruits graduated from the Academy to join the force.

Last year the Clark County Commission approved the "More Cops" tax to hire more police officers in Clark County. The .10 percent tax increase paved the way for an additional 300 law enforcement hires in Clark County.

The department will continue to add more officers to the force. On Sunday, the department announced on Twitter they will be hiring into 2018.
