Arrest Made In 42-Year-Old Homicide Cold Case: LVMPD

Sandra DiFelice's body was found by Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officers at the 1500 block of East Bonanza Road in 1980.

LAS VEGAS, NV – A suspect has been arrested in the murder of 25-year-old Sandra DiFelice, who was found dead at home nearly 42 years ago, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

DiFelice’s body was found by Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officers at the 1500 block of East Bonanza Road on the evening of December 26, 1980, police said.

Evidence at the scene suggested the victim had been sexually assaulted, according to the department.

Despite collecting evidence at the scene at developing a person of interest at the time, authorities were not able to identify the suspect who murdered DiFelice and the case went cold, police said.

In February 2021, LVMPD Cold Case Detectives resubmitted additional evidence for testing using new DNA technology and identified the suspect as 64-year-old Paul Nuttall.

Nuttall was finally taken into custody by the Criminal Apprehension Team on October 27, when he was booked into the Clark County Detention Center for arrest warrants issued for open murder, sexual assault, and burglary, each with the use of or while in possession of a deadly weapon.
