Bellagio Robbery: Metro Releases Surveillance Photo

Photos from surveillance footage show the man who robbed the Bellagio poker room on Tuesday, Nov. 28.

LAS VEGAS, NV - Las Vegas Metropolitan Police have released photos showing the man who robbed the Bellagio poker room on Tuesday. Photos show what Metro has described as a white male between 30-40 years old wearing a winter hat, glasses, and a fake blonde wig. The suspect also has a patch covering the left side of his face.

As of Wednesday morning, the suspect was still at large.

The man robbed the casino on the Las Vegas Strip with a black handgun, according to a Metro press release. The employees complied with the demands. The release did not say how much money was stolen. The man then fled in a 2011 silver Chevrolet Cruze that has been recovered by LVMPD.

Actor James Woods was playing poker inside the Bellagio at the time of the robbery. He detailed the robbery on Twitter Tuesday.

Woods effusively praised the Bellagio staff, who he said were so "cool under pressure" that the poker players didn't even look up from the hands they were playing while it was happening.

"In true poker player fashion we all were focused on the hands we were playing and nobody actually realized it was happening. The gunman pointed his weapon at the cashier with his back to the room," Woods wrote on Twitter.

Woods wrote that the staff "surrendered the money quietly, so no customer would get hurt."

After the actual robbery, Woods said security purposely did not engage the armed robber as he fled, to ensure the safety of the customers.

"Excelllent staff, cool under pressure," he said.
