Chicken Coop Blaze Causes Damage, But No Injuries

A fire started by an overheated lamp inside a chicken coop caused $20,000 in damage to a Las Vegas home on Monday morning.

LAS VEGAS, NV - No injuries were reported in a Monday morning house fire in Las Vegas that fire investigators think may have originated in a chicken coop adjacent to a home on Fairwood Ave.

The call for the fire cam in just before 6 a.m. March 12. Firefighters arrived to find smoke and flames coming from the back of a one-story house. The fire was burning on the outside of the house and crews were able to put it out before it caused any damage to the interior or to the attic of the home. The estimated damage of the fire is $20,000, according to a Las Vegas Fire & Rescue release.

The fire is believed to have been caused by the heating lamp inside the chicken coop.
