Agenda Items 13, 15-17 – Parks & Rec Improvements: City Council will vote on contracts for the following projects:

Agenda Item 25 – Culinary Training and Leadership Academy: City Council will vote on the acceptance of a grant award in the amount of $225,216.13 from the State of Nevada Grant Matching Program (GMP). The city will provide a match amount of $112,608.07 from Redevelopment Agency (RDA) Education Set-Aside funding. This funding will be used as part of the required grant match funding for the pending Economic Adjustment Assistance (EAA) grant to fund the Culinary Training and Leadership Academy, which will be provided at no charge and headquartered in the Historic Westside, focusing on working age youth throughout the cityof Las Vegas. The grant funding period will expire on Sept. 16.

Agenda Item 29 – YNAPP: City Council will discuss and vote on the Youth Neighborhood Association Partnership Program (YNAPP) Grant Review Board recommendations to allocate $37,335.36 for 30 youth initiated projects. YNAPP is a collaboration of youth, neighborhood associations and government, allowing youth to take part on youth-led, youth driven projects of their own design. To complete these projects, YNAPP provides grants of up to $1,250 each to youth groups, which then must match the grant amount with volunteer labor, supplies or cash. Through YNAPP, youth acquire skills in leadership and teamwork while contributing to their communities. The $37,335.36 allocated to this year's YNAPP project teams will leverage a community match of $361,378 in volunteer labor, in-kind donations of goods and services, and/or financial contributions.

Agenda Item 30 – Number of Dogs, Cats, Ferrets & Rabbits: If adopted at this meeting, this bill will amend various provisions of LVMC Title 7 to increase from three to four the number of dogs, cats, ferrets or rabbits that can be kept at a particular place or residence without a specific permit to do so.

Agenda Item 42 – Department of Building & Safety Report: This is an annual report to update the Mayor and City Council on the operations and accomplishments of the city of Las Vegas’ Department Building & Safety and to provide an overview of future projects.

Agenda Item 43 – Department of Youth Development and Social Innovation Report: This is an annual report to update the Mayor and City Council on the most recent accomplishments of the City of Las Vegas’ Department of Youth Development and Social Innovation, and to provide an overview of future projects.
