City Of Las Vegas: Strong Start Academy Elementary School Approved

The city of Las Vegas Strong Start Academy Elementary Schools, proposed to open in August 2022, will serve children in grades kindergarten, first and second grades for the 2022-2023 school year – scaling to eventually serve grades kindergarten through fifth grade.  Year one locations will serve zip codes 89101, 89106 and 89107.

As we prepare to invest in our youngest citizens and early learners, we are committed to providing high quality, rigorous instruction.

Additionally, the plan includes bilingual education for all students, in both English and Spanish.  The school will also operating under a Multi-Tiered System of Supports, which addresses students’ needs academically, socially/emotionally and behaviorally.

We will operate a community school model with multigenerational opportunities such as adult ELL, high school equivalency, conversational Spanish and more for parents and guardians.

“The city of Las Vegas thanks the board for its consideration and approval and we look forward to opening for kindergarten through second grades in August. The school will focus on bilingual education in both English and Spanish. We will have more details soon,” said Mayor Carolyn G. Goodman.
