A murder-suicide on Saturday left two dead and a woman hospitalized, Las Vegas police said.

LAS VEGAS, NV - A roundup of recent crimes reported by Las Vegas Metropolitan Police.

Armed Robbers Threaten Employees

A man armed with a semi-automatic handgun robbed a business at gunpoint on W. Craig Blvd. on Thursday, Jan. 18 before leaving with cash, police said. The robbery occurred at 1:40 p.m. The man, described as a black adult male between 25-30 years old wearing a wool cap and eyeglasses, allegedly threatened an employee before demanding cash.

A man did the same to a business on W. Lake Mead Blvd and threatened an employee with a handgun before leaving with money, police said. The robbery occurred at 8:37 a.m. Saturday morning. The suspect is described as a thin, 5'10' black adult male between 20-30 years old.

Forty-one year old Jorge Rodriguez murdered his wife's boyfriend before shooting her in the legs and committing suicide, police said. The crime occurred at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday morning near F St. and Morgan Ave.

According to a Metro release, Rodriguez encountered his wife in a truck with her boyfriend. He drove his car into the truck where the two were sitting and then exited the vehicle and shot the male victim, whose identity has not been released, "multiple times," police said. The female victim was transported to University Medical Center in stable condition. After shooting his wife, Rodriguez turned the gun on himself.

Arrest Made In December Double Homicide

Michael Thompson, 32, was arrested on Jan. 16 in connection with a double murder that was reported on Dec. 27, 2017. Police arrested him without incident on Sleepy Ct.

A man and a woman were found shot to death behind the swap meet on W. Washington Ave. in late December. Thompson was identified as the suspect and is in custody and facing two counts of murder with a deadly weapon.
