Las Vegas Police Arrest Mother Of Infant Who Died In January

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police arrested the mother of a 10-month old child who died in January on 2nd degree murder charges.

LAS VEGAS, NV - The mother of an infant child who died in January has been arrested following an interview on Thursday with Las Vegas Metropolitan Police detectives. Raelene Jemison, also known by Raelene Gidwani, 36, was arrested and is facing one count of 2nd degree murder.

Both parents of the 10-month old victim have now been arrested following the child's death, which medical personnel believed to be the result of battery, according to police.

In February, the father of the child, Eric Chu, was extradited to Las Vegas after being arrested in Chicago. Police believe he was attempting to flee.

Court records indicate Jemison is scheduled to appear in court on March 12.
