Las Vegas Shooting: Family Of Victim Suing Shooter's Estate

The family of a California woman killed in the Oct. 1 shooting on the Las Vegas Strip is suing the shooter's estate for $45 million.

LAS VEGAS, NV - Court documents filed in Clark County on Wednesday show the family of a woman killed at the Oct. 1 shooting on the Las Vegas Strip is suing the estate of gunman Stephen Paddock for $45 million, according to a report from The Blast.

Keri Lynn Galvan of Thousand Oaks, CA was one of the 58 people who were gunned down when Paddock opened fire on the Route 91 Harvest Festival from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay. Her husband, Justin Galvan, was at the concert with Keri. He and the couple's three children are all seeking $10 million in damages, and Justin is seeking an additional $5 million for being in attendance when the shooting took place, the report says.

According to the court documents obtained by The Blast, the suit seeks $45 million from Paddock's estate for the "Loss of Keri's love, companionship, comfort, care, assistance, protection, affection, and emotional support," among other claims.

A GoFundMe for Galvan's children has raised over $250,000 so far.
