Las Vegas Victims' Fund Will Begin Distributing Payments Monday
Over $31 million collected from 90,000 donors will be distributed to victims of the Las Vegas shooting starting Monday, March 5.

LAS VEGAS, NV - The allocation of $31.4 million from the Las Vegas Victims' Fund to 532 claimants will start on Monday, the committee announced last week. The LVVF announced last week that final contributions were received from over 90,000 sources. The exact amount, $31,470,794, will start to be distributed on March 5 and payments will be completed by the end of the month.
Over half of the money collected in the fund - $15,950,000 - will be distributed to the families of the 58 people who were killed during the Oct. 1 shooting. Each claim will receive $275,000. Ten claims for permanent paralysis or brain damage will also receive $275,000 from the fund.
Over $10 million in funds will be distributed to victims who spent at least one day in the hospital as a result of injuries sustained during the shooting. Fourteen people who spent at least 24 days in the hospital will each receive $200,000. Nine people who were hospitalized between 16-23 days will each receive $150,000. Fifteen people who were hospitalized between 8-15 days will each receive $100,000. Seventy-seven people who were hospitalized between 2-7 days will each receive $52,500. Thirty-two people who were hospitalized for one day will receive $17,500.

The committee received 317 claims for outpatient injuries as a result of the shooting. The fund has allocated $2,518,294 in total to pay outpatient claims. Some of those 317 claims still need to be approved, so the amount paid to each claimant is not yet determined.
Last week, a Las Vegas District Judge appointed accountant Larry Bertsch to assess the estate of gunman Stephen Paddock. Paddock's mother chose to donate his remaining assets to victims of the shooting, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.
