  1. The Philadelphia Eagles will be facing the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl this weekend, and one area restaurant is opening its doors to Eagles fans in the Las Vegas Valley – old and new. Lucino's Pizza owner Joey Scolaro opened his Eagles-themed restaurant four years ago, which showcases Eagles banners, newspaper clippings, and more. Although Scolaro will attend the big game in Phoenix, AZ, he plans to reserve seats at his pizzeria for local fans to watch. (KTNV 13 Action News Las Vegas)
  2. Cactus Park Elementary, a new public charter school, celebrated its grand opening in North Las Vegas over the weekend with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. At the event, parents toured the school and learned about the innovative campus, which offers a unique curriculum and an on-campus farm, food pantry, and cactus garden.   3. A United Airlines flight headed to Las Vegas from Chicago made an emergency landing in Nebraska on Saturday. The pilot reported that the Boeing 777 lost use of one of its engines nearly 70 miles west of Lincoln Airport in Nebraska, so the pilot turned around and landed safely. The airline company noted the event was a technical issue and sent another plane to pick up passengers. (Las Vegas Sun)

  • NFL players, mascots, and cheerleaders stopped at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada over the weekend to help children plant flowers in the club's garden, participate in Play 60, paint a mural, and enjoy food and games.   • Clark County Commissioner Justin Jones and Las Vegas Councilman Brian Knudsen joined Get Outdoors Nevada staff and volunteers to clean up Davis Park on Saturday.
