New York-New York Casino Robbed Early Wednesday Morning

A man produced a gun before leaving the cashier's cage at the New York-New York casino with an undisclosed amount of cash.

LAS VEGAS, NV - For the second time in two months a person has successfully robbed a casino on the Las Vegas Strip. Police say a man entered New York-New York casino on Las Vegas Boulevard at 12:45 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 10 and robbed the cashier cage at gunpoint.

The man, described as a black adult male between 30-35 years old and wearing black rimmed glasses, approached the cage and produced a gun. He left the casino with an undisclosed amount of cash and nobody was injured.

An LVMPD spokesperson said that the suspect fled the scene in a taxi following the robbery. Metro said that video footage of the suspect leaving isn't currently available but may become available later. The spokesperson said that Metro is investigating which taxi service the suspect used to flee the scene.

"Obviously we're following up on that information," an LVMPD public information officer said. "That's obviously going to be one of the first things (investigators) do,"

On Nov. 28 a man robbed the Bellagio poker room at gunpoint and fled in a silver Chevrolet Cruze. The vehicle was eventually located by LVMPD, but the suspect remains at large after leaving with an undisclosed amount of money.
