Two town halls will be held in Las Vegas on Tuesday to discuss the distribution of funds to victims of the Las Vegas shooting

LAS VEGAS, NV - The Las Vegas Victims' Fund is seeking public input on the disbursement of funds for victims of the October 1 tragedy on the Las Vegas Strip. Two town halls will be held in Las Vegas on Tuesday, Nov. 27 to discuss the non-profit's recently released draft protocol for fund distribution.

The town halls will be held at the Clark County Government Center 500 S Grand Central Parkway at 10:30 a.m. and again at 6 p.m. The Las Vegas Victims' Fund's 16-person committee is seeking input from survivors, family members of the victims, and the general public. Here's what you need to know for Tuesday's town halls:

What the draft protocol states: The initial proposal outlines the process and prioritization of claims, and can be read at the Las Vegas Victims' Fund website. The draft protocol also provides a proposed timeline of important dates, including a December 8, 2017 deadline to submit public comment for the draft protocol and a January 31, 2018 deadline to submit a claim. The committee will adopt a final protocol on December 11--three days after public comments close. The timeline also targets March 5, 2018 to begin distributing funds.
