Rep. Jacky Rosen Reports Busy Fundraising Quarter To Finish 2017
During the final quarter of 2017, Democratic Rep. Jacky Rosen raised $1.56 million for her Senate run.

LAS VEGAS, NV - Rep. Jacky Rosen is going hard after Dean Heller's seat in the United States Senate. Nevada's 2018 Senate campaign could be the most watched in the entire country, and millions of dollars will pour into both sides between now and November. That money has already started to flow and on Tuesday Rosen reported her quarterly fundraising total from the final reporting period of 2017 ahead of the Jan. 31 reporting date.
Rosen, who is vacating her House seat as representative of Nevada's 3rd Congressional District, reported $1.56 million in contributions from October through December. Rosen also spent roughly $900,000 in the final quarter of 2017. After reporting $1.2 million at the end of 2017's third quarter, according to FEC records, and raising $1.56 million in the year's final quarter, Rosen will report $1.8 million on hand at the end of 2017.
"The campaign made substantial early investments in direct mail fundraising and digital acquisition for email fundraising," said Rosen's communications director Stewart Boss in an email to Patch.

Rosen still has a long way to go to match Heller's war chest. While Heller has yet to release fourth quarter fundraising totals, the Republican Senator reported $4.1 million on hand to end the third quarter of 2017. The incumbent Heller will face off against Danny Tarkanian in the Republican primary.
Tarkanian has never been elected to office in Nevada, yet the 2018 Senate bid will be his seventh campaign. He most recently lost to Rosen in the 2016 campaign for Nevada's 3rd Congressional District. He previously ran for Senate in 2010, but lost the Republican nomination to former Assemblywoman Sharron Angle.

The campaign is expected to attract the eyes of the nation as Democrats look to pick up a valuable seat in the Republican controlled Senate. Four of Nevada's six member federal delegation are Democrats and Hillary Clinton won Nevada in the 2016 presidential election.
