Sickness Causes Celine Dion To Shutdown Weekend Shows

A "severe" cold will keep Celine Dion off stage this weekend in Las Vegas.

LAS VEGAS, NV - Having a cold is no fun. It's certainly no reason to sing and dance. So it's tough to blame Celine Dion for cancelling two shows this weekend in Las Vegas. Dion was set to play shows at the Colosseum Stage at Ceasar's Palace on Friday and Saturday, but cancelled due to "severe" symptoms of a cold, the singer announced on Twitter.

Dion's physician ordered her to take a break, Billboard reported Friday. She reportedly suffered from severe congestion and irritation of her vocal chords. Dion's next scheduled performance as part of her Ceasar's Palace residency is March 27. She has 26 more shows scheduled in 2018 from March 27 through June 9. Refunds are available for those who already purchased tickets to either of her Jan. 19 or Jan. 20 shows.
