  1. A North Las Vegas charter school was evacuated on Thursday morning due to a possible chemical exposure. According to officials, one adult at Legacy Traditional School felt sick from the exposure but didn't go to the hospital. After investigation, officials said a student brought unknown chemicals into the building as a "prank." (News3LV)
  2. Winners were announced for the 2022 BroadwayWorld Las Vegas Awards. The event honors the best of the best in regional productions, touring shows, and more from October 2021 to September 2022. Winners included Michelle Johnson for Best Cabaret/Concert/Solo Performance; Ashley Oblad for Best Choreography of a Play or Musical; and Neil Taffe and John Tomasello for Best Costume Design of a Play or Musical.   3. A library card can get you more than just books in 2023. The Nevada State Parks Library Park Pass was launched this year and allows local library cardholders the eligibility to access Nevada state parks at no cost. Day-use entry fees for area state parks typically range from three dollars to $15. (Las Vegas Weekly)

  • Las Vegas Fire & Rescue participated in hazmat training this week. The crew joined the Southern Nevada Health District and valley hospitals in identifying the hazard, mitigating it, and decontaminating those who came in contact with the hazard. (Las Vegas Fire & Rescue via Facebook)
  • The Nevada Department of Transportation is recommending area residents use the Waze app for road closures this weekend. Over 15 road closures will occur over the next few days. (City of Las Vegas Government via Facebook)
