Suspect Disguised Face During New York-New York Robbery: Police

LAS VEGAS, NV - A man who robbed the New York-New York Casino on the Las Vegas Strip was arrested on Jan. 25 and is currently being held in federal prison on unrelated charges, according to a press release from Las Vegas Metropolitan Police.

Cameron Kennedy, 26, is alleged to have robbed the New York-New York Casino at gunpoint on Jan. 10. The suspect in the robbery was described at the time as a black male, but Kennedy allegedly used face paint to disguise his identity during the robbery, police said.

According to a Metro release, Kennedy was arrested by LVMPD, FBI, and the U.S. Attorney's Office on Jan. 25. The release indicates that a criminal complaint for the robbery of the Las Vegas Strip casino was signed in District Court on March 9. He is being charged with interference with commerce by robbery in relation to the incident.

A release from the U.S. Justice Department states that Kennedy was on federal supervision for a bank robbery when he allegedly robbed the New York-New York Casino. Kennedy apparently cut off a GPS monitoring bracelet three hours before the Jan. 10 robbery.

"I want all your hundreds and don't mess around. I am not kidding. I want all hundreds," Kennedy told the cashier, according to the Justice Department. Kennedy is alleged to have stolen $23,367 before leaving in a taxi.

He is facing a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
