LAS VEGAS, NV - Thanksgiving week is one of the busier times of the year. No doubt the stress can be a hassle for travelers, so here are a few pointers from McCarran International Airport for flying in and out of Las Vegas this weekend.
Show up early
Being early and prepared always makes travelling smoother. McCarran Airport recommends you take into account the increase in traffic by showing up to the airport earlier than you might normally. Though the traffic will be increased, they don't anticipate any one day being more busy than the others this week.

TSA Checkpoint
According to TSA, food is allowed on flights as a carry-on item. Wine can be transported through checked luggage. It's also recommended you review your airline's baggage policy before arriving at the airport.

Parking
Parking in McCarran's Terminal 1 Long Term Garage and Terminal 3 Economy Lot are likely to be full. If those are at capacity, travelers will be directed to other available parking areas. Long term parking is $10 per day. Call 702-261-5122 for 24-hour parking information.
Picking up and dropping off
Short term waiting for picking up is available in a lot off Kitty Hawk Way and is open from 6 a.m. to 1 a.m. daily. At Passenger Pick-Up, you can pull into a short term parking lot for 15-minutes while you wait for your party.
Traveling with animals
Each terminal at McCarran International Airport has its own pet relief area.
