According to recent data, "The Polar Express" is not only the most searched Christmas movie in Nevada, it's the most searched Christmas movie in America. Over half of the country, 27 states total, search for the Christmas classic more than any other movie this time of year.

The 2004 animated movie based on the 1985 children's book features Tom Hanks. When it was made, the $165 million budget was the largest at the time for an animated movie.

Next up on the Google list is "Elf" which is the most searched Christmas movie in 11 states. Coming in third is a holiday classic, "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" which is the most searched movie in eight states. Surprisingly, "A Christmas Story" is only the most searched Christmas movie in three states, while "Love Actually" rounds out the list as the most searched Christmas movie in Washington, D.C.

What do you think about the list? Any surprises? Anything that was left off that you think should have been included? What movie will you pop into the DVD player (or stream on Netflix, or maybe even dust off the VCR for) as you cozy up beside the fire with a cup of hot chocolate?
