  1. The Bedford Police Department shared a story about life of a drug-fighting hero, Enrique Camarena, in a recent post in honor of Red Ribbon week. The special agent was sent to Guadalajara, Mexico, where he lost his life after dedicating four years to fighting drug cartels, to break up a multi-billion dollar drug pipeline. Red Ribbon Week is when communities can "take a stand against drugs" and keep our schools and community drug-free. Let's show our support by displaying red ribbons, Bedford! 2. Twenty-nine cats and kittens recently arrived at the Animal Rescue League of NH in Bedford, having made the journey from an animal rescue transport partner in South Carolina. What happens next? After a quarantine period and medical assessment, the new cats and kittens will be in need of loving homes. "Keep an eye on our website in the coming weeks to see when they are available for adoption ☺🐾," posted the ARLNH. (Animal Rescue League of NH via Facebook)
  3. On Tuesday, Bedford firefighters were trained to operate extended aerial ladders that reach many stories high to rescue people and pets The five Bedford firefighters completed a "five day pro-board accredited aerial operator class." The Bedford Fire Department thanked friends in the Bedford community for allowing firefighters to train using their businesses and homes, adding that "Bedford Fire is one of only four departments in the state approved to host this 'satellite' class."
