- When you visit the Bedford Public Library, venture to the lower level to find new artwork on display. A collection of prints by former Bedford resident and UNH graduate, Philip D. - Adam Sandler, affectionately called "The Sandman," is coming home to Manchester in October. Sandler will bring humor and songs to the SHNU Arena as part of a 15 stop North American tour. The star of “Happy Gilmore” and “The Wedding Singer” will perform alongside a surprise guest, at the Saturday, Oct. 22 show. Sandler grew up in Manchester’s North End and graduated from Manchester High School Central in 1984. You can spot him around the Queen City during his hometown visits. - Help clean our beautiful rivers! Volunteer for the 36th Annual River Clean-Up on Friday, Sept. 16 through Sunday, Sept. 18 with OARS, a nonprofit, science-based organization with a mission "to protect, improve and preserve the Assabet, Sudbury and Concord River watersheds for all people and wildlife."
