Here are the top 3 stories in Bedford today:

  1. Are frequent earthquakes in New Hampshire unusual? At least five earthquakes have been reported in New Hampshire this year, and some are questioning why New Hampshire is having so many earthquakes. Scientist Dr. Alan Kafka, director of Weston Observatory, told WMUR, “It’s nothing unusual.” About a dozen earthquakes of at least 2.0-magnitude have rumbled through the Granite State since 2020. (WMUR)
  2. A guest celebrating his birthday at a restaurant in Portsmouth was surprised by a generous patron. An anonymous and generous patron at the Dinnerhorn Restaurant on Route 1 surprised an 85-year-old man who was celebrating his birthday with his family. When it was time to pay the bill, the server said, "Happy Birthday," an anonymous diner had paid the bill. The man was surprised, and said, "But no one knows me here!"according to a Facebook post about the story. Way to go, anonymous patron! (wokq.com)
  3. The New Hampshire Attorney General will be providing an update Thursday with new evidence for the Harmony Montgomery case. Investigators continue t the search for the seven-year-old Manchester girl, who has been missing since October of 2019 when the family was "living in cars," investigators said. A house on the Manchester-Bedford line where the family lived was searched earlier in the investigation, and volunteers searched nearby woods for clues. Harmony's father, who was originally from Bedford, has a long criminal record. A $144K reward is offered for information that will help find the missing girl. (Patch)
