Bulldogs Chew Up Goffstown, Retain Crown
Bedford boys lacrosse team rides big win to second title.

For all intents and purposes, the New Hampshire Division II boys' lacrosse title game took place Saturday.
For the defending champion Bedford Bulldogs, Tuesday night's actual D-II finale was more of a cruise than a contest.
Top-seeded BHS, in fact, glided to a 16-2 victory against upstart Goffstown – the tournament No. 6 seed, which upset second-ranked St. Thomas Aquinas Saturday to earn its place in the contest.

Bedford clinched its spot in the game with a gritty 8-6 triumph against No. 4 Bow the same day.
Yet against Goffstown, the Bulldogs found the back of the net seven times before the Grizzles notched a goal, and they went into halftime with a 10-1 lead, according to the Union Leader.

The win marked not only BHS's second-straight championship, but also their 40th-consecutive victory.
“I asked the guys for 48 minutes of solid lacrosse and I’m very happy with the outcome because I think we got 48 straight minutes,” BHS head coach Matthew Guerard told the Union Leader. “I can’t really put into words how hard these kids have worked over the last couple years to get to this point.”
Jason Campbell and Dan Colella led the Bullfogs with five goals each in the contest, and David Phelps contributed four more tallies to the dominant effort.
