  1. At Dartmouth College on Friday, Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.) and Sen. Robert Portman (R-Ohio) agreed that international stability "hinges on Ukraine’s ability to decide its own path forward." Portman is a 1978 graduate of Dartmouth College. "Freedom loving countries all over the world are stepping up... If not us, who?” he asked.   2. Several popular Bedford, New Hampshire, restaurants and wine bars made the list of the Best of NH 2022 Breweries, Wine, Spirits, Cocktails & Bars. For the best "Wine Discover Bar," the editor's top pick was Bedford's Vine 32 Wine + Graze Bar. They offer "32 rotating selections of wine in as little as 1-ounce pours," so you can try a sample without buying a glass or bottle. The Bedford's Reader's Choice Awards for "Cocktails" went to The Copper Door in Bedford and Salem, and The Bedford Village Inn was named "Restaurant With Best Wine List."   3. A winner was announced for the popular New Hampshire's Hampton Beach Sand Sculpting contest held Thursday, June 16 to Saturday, June 18 at Hampton Beach. The first place and People’s Choice award went to Mélineige Beauregard’s “I am Life,” Captain Cook, Hawaii. The beautiful sand sculpture featured the profile of a woman with flowers in her flowing hair. Contestants received applause and admiration for their sculpting ability and competed for $7,000 in prize money. (New Bedford Guide)
