Man Injured, Another Arrested Following Bedford Highway Crash

Two-vehicle accident occurred just north of the Bedford tolls.

A Litchfield man was injured and a Nashua man faces charges for driving without a license following a highway accident on Saturday in Bedford.

At about 2:20 p.m. Troopers from the New Hampshire State Police, Troop B barracks, responded to a report of a two-vehicle crash on the Everett Turnpike southbound, just north of the Bedford Toll Plaza.

The vehicles involved were a 2004 Ford Explorer and a 1998 Hyundai Elantra.

The driver of the Ford Explorer, John Rochoh of Litchfield, was transported to the Elliot Hospital to be treated for his injuries. The driver of the Hyundai Elantra, Lazaro Hernandez of Nashua, was not injured but was arrested for operating without a driver’s license. 

Hernandez was bailed and released with an upcoming Merrimack Court date.

Members of The New Hampshire State Police Tactical Accident Reconstruction Team were called to the scene and are investigating the cause of the crash. Troopers were assisted at the scene by Department of Transportation personnel as well as members of the Bedford Police and Fire Departments.  The Everett Turnpike south was limited to minimal lanes of travel while the investigation was ongoing.
